Dino Dini's Kick Off Revival (2016)

Tuossapa seuraavaksi Dinon viimeisimpää viestittelyä...

Dear customers, fans, prospective customers and non-fans,

When the game was released it was a big moment for me, coming at the end of 6 months of continuous crunching to get the first version of the game to ship and this being my first real attempt at an indie dev come back in over 20 years. As you may know, there was a lot of unpleasantness which I found rather difficult. Something of a body blow, which really did not help me focus on the work that I still needed to do. As a result of this, and to minimize the impact on the patches and the Vita development, I decided to reduce my online presence to just Twitter and Twitch. To those not aware, I have been streaming development of the game since the beginning of April, allowing those interested to follow progress of the game even on a daily basis. I stream every evening, although will be taking a break over Christmas.

Thus, although I have not been using Facebook for the past months myself directly, I have still been keeping interested customers up to date.

Enough time elapsed now that I feel better about the whole thing, and feel I can start to also interact on Facebook again.

When you put your heart and soul into something, it does not mean the world will like it. However, there are a lot of people who do enjoy KOR and a few who are extremely passionate about it. I have faith in my game, and I thank those supporters who have also shown faith.

The VITA port took a lot longer than expected. Those following me on Twitch know why. It is not physically possible for me to work any harder. But I am still trying to keep the customer satisfied. I may not be able to please all customers, but every customer gets the same complete commitment from me.

Soon the Vita version will be released, as well as a patch with some additional content for PS4. The Vita and PS4 versions should be essentially identical. They will be Cross Buy. Cross Play is still an unknown quantity, but we hope to achieve it at some point in the future.

I hope that you will enjoy the new versions, and ask you to be patient as we continue to develop and enhance the game incorporating your feedback, which was always the plan from the beginning.

However, if you do find problems with the game, please remember that I am available to help you personally. Just drop by my Twitch stream any evening. There is also the Kormunity, a friendly community of players who can help you with the game.

There are many things I want to improve, and now that the Vita version is out of the way, I am hoping I can address these. But please bear in mind the development team is currently just myself and Florian. Florian works a 40 hour week (it's a normal job for him) while I am working as non stop as I can. Game development is unpredictable, and we hit some issues that have caused delay, but we are doing all we can to bring you new content and updates as soon as we can.

As for any who feel the need to send anger, extreme disappointment or even abuse my way, I ask you to stop and consider what it is that you want and how I can help you. I really do want to please everyone I can, but I cannot help you if you just tell me I've done a bad job, or that the game just sucks, or that you are looking forward to the release of some other game. If you can give me constructive feedback, then I can help.. If not right away, then eventually as we refine the product.

Constructive feedback is feedback that helps me to improve your experience. Telling me I suck, or that I should give up, or that you think you will never enjoy the game.. these things are not constructive because I cannot use them to improve your or anyone else's experience.

Despite all efforts, I know that there will always be unsatisfied customers. This is the reality of game development. I care about these customers too, because I really do want to understand why they do not enjoy the game. I know that it can appear to some as though I have personally failed them should they not get along with my game, but please understand that when I make a game, I make one game that is sampled by thousands of players. It is not personal when I fail to satisfy you due to design choices I have made, and I would appreciate that feedback is treated in a similarly non-personal way. Disappointment is always a tricky thing, but it can be dealt with constructively.

As for the future, we have lots of exciting things planned. The bigger picture is to move on to the game I have been waiting to remake for 26 years... a new Player Manger style game. I hope I get to do that.

I'll be back on Twitch (handle is dndn1011) this evening, if you want to discuss any of this with me and members of the Kormunity.

Kind regards to all,

Dino
